Trail:

To get to the trailhead, park at the top of Cypress Mountain near the Cypress Mountain Resort Nordic area.   You’ll see the trail entrance next to the big B.C. Parks map to the left of the cross-country ski area.  Note, the Cypress Mountain Resort trials require paid access (and do not allow dogs) but Hollyburn Mountain Trail is free!

The first few kilometers have a gradual incline through woods.  The trial is really well marked with tall, bright orange poles.  The trial widens and you’ll start a steeper incline along the powerlines before going back through the woods again.  From here you’ll continue another 2 km or so until the trail opens up and you reach the steep section.  Don’t forget to turn around and take in the beautiful view! There is a flat area at the top of the hill, which is Hollyburn Mountain Peak, however, it is still about 1 km to the best view at the Hollyburn Mountain Summit.  The last stretch to the summit is very steep but totally worth it for the panoramic views of Vancouver, Howe Sound, and Grouse Mountain.

Be careful on the way back down!  Pro-tip: Wear snow pants or bring a trash bag in order to slide down the steep sections near the summit.
